2010 Outstanding Freshman: Meredith Jones

MEREDITH JONES is from Dawn, Mo. and studying Agricultural Education.

Her leadership activities include being a state officer with the Missouri FFA, a Missouri Farm Bureau Ambassador, a member of the Sigma Alpha Professional Agricultural Sorority, a Collegiate Farm Bureau member, an Agriculture Education Society member and CAFNR Steering Week member, among others.

"Over the past 14 months, I have come to know Meredith extremely well and am so proud of what an incredible young woman she is," said Steven Rogers, Missouri FFA secretary. "Meredith is extremely committed to the industry and people of agriculture. Her involvement stems from her belief in the industry and her desire to lead it. From Sigma Alpha to the CAFNR Week Steering Committee to Missouri Farm Bureau, she is committed to fulfilling her leadership duties to further advance the mission of these respective groups. She is committed to her academic success, developed her study habits and adjusted well to the rigors of pursuing a degree at the University of Missouri.

"My participation in FFA and growing up on a farm has given me a passion for agriculture," Jones said. "During my short time at CAFNR, my involvement in various activities and organizations has afforded me the opportunity to meet new friends with the same interests and goals. I'm excited to be part of CAFNR."
