South Farm Showcase, Fun on the Farm, set for September 24, 2011

South Farm supports the research, outreach and teaching missions of animal science, plant science, veterinary science, biology, botany, biochemistry, and other disciplines. The farm is home to the Swine Research Complex, the Beef Research and Teaching Farm, the Turf Center, and the Horse Farm. The farm also supports research and demonstration projects in entomology, poultry, and maize genetics.

Delta Center Renamed to Honor Superintendent T.E. Jake Fisher

On Sept. 2, MU Vice Chancellor and Dean Thomas Payne, College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, announced the Center would be renamed the T.E. “Jake” Fisher Delta Research Center to honor the dedication and leadership of retiring superintendent, T.E. “Jake” Fisher.

Tiger Garden: Following flowers

Kim Cottrell's initial career goal was in architecture. Work at MU's Tiger Garden helped to discover her real passion.

“I quickly found the architecture studies program was not for me,” the senior from Monticello said. “I decided to pursue my landscape architecture passions through the plant science landscape design program. It was not a hard switch. The College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources was so welcoming, and the advisers were very helpful.”
