What do you do in your current role with the University of Missouri?
I am an assistant extension professor in agricultural business and policy. My area of expertise is in business planning and management, finance, risk management, human resources and production economics.
How long have you worked in this position?
I began working for MU Extension in September 2002.
What is your favorite part about the work you do?
The people. I enjoy supporting and educating Missouri farmers, agribusinesses, commodity organizations and extension colleagues. It is rewarding to gain feedback from stakeholders that what you do matters and benefits others.
How are you helping MU A&E Extension reach our #2xAg2030 goal?
My program is focused on adding value to the Missouri economy by working with farmers and agricultural stakeholders to improve business practices, mitigate risks, evaluate new technologies and investigate entrepreneurial opportunities to enhance profitability and sustainability in agriculture.
What is something your CAFNR and MU Extension teammates may not know about you?
I’m an avid fan of St. Louis Cardinals baseball. My goal is to watch the Cardinals play in each of the Major League stadiums in my lifetime. I have completed eight stadiums to date.
What is your hometown, place of high school graduation and degrees/universities?
I grew up near Madison, Missouri, and graduated from Madison C-3 high school. I received dual bachelor’s degrees; one in agricultural economics and the other in business administration from the University of Missouri. I also completed a master’s in business administration degree from Columbia College.
