Alba Argerich (left), assistant professor in the School of Natural Resources, received the 2021 Provost’s Outstanding Junior Faculty Teaching Award. Felix Fritschi, C. Alice Donaldson Professor in Bioenergy Crop Physiology and Genetics in the Division of Plant Sciences, received the 2021 Chancellor's Award for Outstanding Research and Creative Activity. Leon Schumacher, professor and agricultural systems technology program coordinator, received the 2021 Provost’s Award for Leadership in International Education.


LORC-Goats
These new goats at Land of the Osages Research Center will participate in a replicated trial to study the impacts of goat grazing on the invasive weed, sericea lespedeza.


Land of the Osages Research Center
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) awarded $500,000 in funding for a project titled “MU-Osage Food & Agriculture Program for Tribal Student Recruitment, Engagement, and Success." This project is to build connections for MU-Osage students through scholarships, land-based experiences, and peer and mentor support.


AnSci-academy
High school students were able to get some hands-on learning with Animal Sciences on July 16, when they came to campus to Discover the CAFNR Experience!


PlantSci-Academy
High school students visited campus on July 24 to Discover the CAFNR Experience, where they propagated their own plants, learned about designing landscapes, saw drones in action and learned about turfgrass management.
