Waiting for the Big Catch

Jefferson Farm and Garden will host six Fun Family Fishing Nights

The Jefferson Farm and Garden Fun Family Fishing Nights return in 2019, offering families and friends an opportunity to fish in Jefferson’s 7-acre stocked pond. There will be a total of six fun family fishing nights, all of which are on Fridays, from May to August.

“Our Fun Family Fishing Nights are always a great time for families, as well as individuals who are looking to just get out and do a little fishing,” said Tim Reinbott, assistant director for the Agricultural Experiment Station. “The fishing nights have been incredibly popular the last two years, so we have added a couple additional events as well.”

The cost is $5 per person – children 4 years old and younger are free. That price includes the rental of a fishing pole and bait. The fishing is catch and release only and a fishing license is not required.

The events will be held on May 10, May 24, June 14, June 28, July 12 and August 9.

Each of the six fishing nights run from 6-8 p.m.
