Tiger Classic Golf Tournament brings in $30,000 for scholarship funds and Ag 100 Fund

Mizzou College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources alumni and students and industry professionals gathered for the annual CAFNR Tiger Classic Golf Tournament Friday, Sept. 14, at the Lake of the Woods Golf Course. The event raised $30,000 for the Mizzou CAFNR Alumni Association scholarship fund and the Ag 100 Fund, which is used for teaching enhancement and student opportunities.

Thirty-six teams came out for lunch sponsored by the Missouri Pork Association and a round of 18-hole golf followed by the Great MU Steak Fry sponsored by Missouri Cattlemen’s Association, Missouri Beef Industry Council and Golden Farms. During the tournament, golfers had the opportunity to bid for silent auction items and buy chances for a 50/50 raffle.

Mun Choi, president of the University of Missouri System; Christopher Daubert, vice chancellor and dean of CAFNR; Bryan Garton, senior associate dean of CAFNR; and Mizzou CAFNR Alumni Association scholarship recipients spoke to the attendees at the Great MU Steak Fry.

Members of the CAFNR Alumni Association and its Board of Directors are dedicated to the future of agriculture and share a commitment to agricultural progress, said Emily Kueker, president of the association’s board of directors. Alumni help develop future leaders of Missouri agriculture through student recruitment, scholarship fund development, public relations programs, student career development, legislative interaction and leadership recognition.
