On November 7, the School of Natural Resources celebrated the inaugural SNR Appreciation and Awards Dinner in Stotler Lounge in Memorial Union. Over 100 guests were in attendance, including faculty, staff, students and alumni. The evening began with dinner and introductions followed by Shibu Jose, director of the School of Natural Resources, discussing the current state of the school.
Those receiving an award were:
- Jenna Fusinatto, academic advisor, SNR Outstanding Citizen Staff Award
- Laura Hertel, coordinator of student services, the TIGER Staff Award
- Chung-Ho Lin, research associate professor of forestry, SNR Outstanding Research Faculty
- Peter Motavalli, professor of soil fertility and plant nutrition, SNR Excellence in Teaching Faculty Award
- Sonja Wilhelm Stanis, associate professor and graduate emphasis area coordinator, SNR Exceptional Service Faculty Award
- Janice Newson, senior majoring in soil, environmental and atmospheric science, SNR Outstanding Undergraduate Student
- Rachel Owen, natural resources Ph.D. student, SNR Outstanding graduate student
- David Murphy, SNR Black and Gold Distinguished Alumni Award
- Shibu Jose, director of the School of Natural Resources, the Al Vogt Award.
Presenting the staff awards was Anita Carter, business manager in SNR. Tony Lupo, professor of atmospheric science, presented the faculty and student awards.
“We are incredibly proud of all who were recognized with awards,” said Shibu Jose, professor and director of the School of Natural Resources. “SNR is home to some of the best faculty, staff, students, and alumni and it was an honor to be able to recognize a few of them.”
