On Friday, May 12, Abrea Mizer was awarded the title of Outstanding Senior from the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources at the 2017 spring commencement ceremony. Mizer graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in both biochemistry and agricultural education.
During her tenure at MU, Mizer served as an ambassador for CAFNR, giving tours and presentations to visiting students. She also coached and mentored fellow students as a peer learning assistant through the biochemistry department and as a CAFNR peer career coach. During the summer of 2015, Mizer interned with Monsanto, assisting with their print and digital marketing efforts.
Mizer has been named to the Dean’s list for seven consecutive semesters and in 2016 was named CAFNR Outstanding Junior. She was also the recipient of the CAFNR Ag Alumni Scholarship and most recently the Mizzou ’39 award, given to 39 outstanding seniors across all disciplines.
Approximately 450 graduates from CAFNR joined Mizer at the commencement ceremony May 12 in the Hearnes Center. The School of Natural Resources will hold their commencement ceremony Saturday, May 13, at 1:30 p.m. in Jesse Auditorium.
