The College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources and the School of Natural Resources will send approximately 590 students out into the world as graduates during May commencement ceremonies.
The CAFNR graduation ceremony will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 13, in the Hearnes Center. About 450 students will receive diplomas from the various disciplines in the College.
The speaker for CAFNR commencement will be Wamwari Waichungo, vice president of global scientific and regulatory affairs at The Coca-Cola Company. Waichungo received her Ph.D. in food science from CAFNR in 1996. She recently served as an Executive-in-Residence for the College, presenting to and meeting with students from around the University of Missouri. SNR will hold commencement ceremonies at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 14, in Jesse Auditorium. Approximately 140 students will receive diplomas at the ceremony.
Commencement speaker for SNR will be Alex George, an author and lawyer. George was born in England but now resides in Columbia, Mo. His most recent novel “A Good American,” was a national and international bestseller.
