The inaugural Missouri Youth Institute brought high school students to Columbia in late February to learn about the World Food Prize; give oral presentations about one of 20 topics relating to developing countries, including water scarcity, conflict resolution and climate volatility; and listen to a keynote by Julie Borlaug, granddaughter of Nobel Peace Prize laureate Norman Borlaug. The students with the highest combined scores are offered an opportunity to attend this year's Global Youth Institute at the World Food Prize in October. Thirty-eight students were selected for the inaugural event; the hope is to bring in 100 next year.

CAFNR Ag Unlimited is such a big event, it takes 70 volunteers and draws 800 CAFNR alumni and friends each February. (Is Truman a volunteer or a guest?!) This year's event was held Saturday, Feb. 13, at Columbia's Holiday Inn Expo Center.

Check out more photos from these events on our Flickr site. What are YOU up to? Send us photos and captions of the events and other happenings in your corner of CAFNR! Just email the information to engerm@missouri.edu.
