Approximately 300 students will receive their diplomas during December commencement ceremonies from the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources and the School of Natural Resources.
The CAFNR graduation ceremony will take place Friday, Dec. 18, in the Hearnes Center. The event will start at 2 p.m. Around 200 students will receive their diplomas from various disciplines within CAFNR.
The guest speaker for the CAFNR ceremony is Richard Fordyce, the director of the Missouri Department of Agriculture. Fordyce is a fourth-generation farmer from Bethany, Mo. He was appointed director in 2013 by Gov. Jay Nixon and has spent more than 20 years in agricultural leadership.
Around 100 students will receive their diplomas at the SNR commencement ceremony. The event will be held in Jesse Auditorium at 6 p.m. also on Dec. 18.
The SNR commencement program will include a brief video about the efforts of Pat Jones and her late husband to re-establish prairies at the Prairie Fork Conservation Area, an area now cooperatively managed by several entities including the School, and words from Mrs. Jones, who has been a generous contributor to the School.
