Dear CAFNR and SNR Students:
As members of CAFNR’s and SNR’s Offices of Academic Programs, we are committed to providing an atmosphere that promotes learning and a sense of belonging for all students. We acknowledge the fear and uncertainty currently impacting our university, our students, and ourselves.
We ask that you join us in facing this challenge head-on as an opportunity to educate and support one another both in and out of the classroom as we strive to create a better Mizzou.
As we move forward, we want to emphasize that respect for and civility toward others is essential if we want Mizzou to be a safe place that encourages the growth and development of all of its members.
We believe that diversity and inclusion are essential to the flow of ideas and formation of knowledge. Listening to and learning from others with diverse backgrounds and experiences are skills that require practice. Though it may be difficult to have conversations with people who see the world through a different lens, it is essential for all of us to practice these skills.
We care about you and your experiences as a student in our college, at our university, and in our community. We encourage you to reach out to us to share your concerns and ideas. How can we use the recent events to become a better place to learn and grow? Our doors are open—let’s start the conversation.
