It was a packed house for the College's first CAFNR Career Connection Days Monday, Oct. 5. The event allowed high school students to explore the degree options in the College and learn what careers those degrees could lead them to. Nearly 500 students from more than 35 schools in Missouri attended. Here, a packed room of students learn about career options in Animal Sciences.

Guests heard numerous presentations on topics ranging from freeze branding to mushroom cultivation.

South Farm Showcase 2015 included activities at Jefferson Farm and Garden, including kids' fishing. The event drew an estimated 16,000 attendees to South Farm, and was held Saturday, Sept. 26.

The Tiger Ag Classic Golf Tournament, sponsored by the MU Ag Alumni Association, was help Friday, Sept. 18, and had the most participants ever! The event brought a fun and friendly atmosphere to Columbia's L.A. Nickell Golf Course. The Ag Classic benefits students in the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources.

The Thompson Research Center Field Day featured several presentations on management strategies to improve beef cattle production. More than 150 farmers, producers and students attended the event, held Thursday, Sept. 15.

The Southwest Research Center Field Day was held Friday, Sept. 11. Guests were able to hear information and research on a variety of topics during the event, including beef, forages and horticulture. Here Andy Thomas, assistant research professor, speaks.

Visiting USDA Cochran Fellows from Ghana recently explored Stanton Brothers, the farm of a CAFNR alum, as part of their training on poultry feed formulation. The program was led by Michael Ouart, retired director of cooperative Extension, and Jess Lyons, poultry extension, with assistance from CAFNR International Programs.
