Several hundred packed Rone Hall and educational tours
The 53rd Annual Fisher Delta Field Day was held at the center near Portageville on Sept. 2, 2014. The morning started with a breakfast and led into educational talks and tours around the center.

Kent Shannon, MU Extension natural resource engineering specialist, spoke about the use of UAVs in agriculture. He gave and update of the latest legislation and what the future holds for the unmanned vehicles.
Ty Fowler, product development manager at Deltapine, talks about what is coming in 2015 for new cotton seed technology.
Andrea Jones, cotton specialist at FDRC, gave a tour of the cotton variety trials. Each year, the research center tests hundreds of varieties of cotton at several farms in various soil types to give producers the idea of which varieties perform the best.
