The perfect fall Mizzou tailgate can also be the perfect way to support student learning experiences in the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources! The services below showcase the College’s signature research, education and outreach programs while providing top-quality products to the public and experiences for our students.
Tiger Garden, CAFNR’s student-run florist, can create custom black-and-gold tailgating decorations with flowers, ribbons and balloons. Their selection of Mizzou items includes black metal napkin holders, candleholders, signs and more. Their baskets of Mizzou-themed goodies are always styled to perfection. Visit Tiger Garden at 2-34 Ag Building. Their hours are 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Follow them on Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest too!
Buck’s Ice Cream has more than 30 flavors of premium, quality ice cream made fresh on campus. Their signature Tiger Stripe is creamy French vanilla swirled with Dutch cocoa. Walk in and pick up a cone, a quart, half-gallon or even a 3-gallon tub of your favorite to serve to all your tailgate friends. Find Buck’s Ice Cream Place on the south side of Eckles Hall. They are open Monday-Friday, noon to 5 p.m. (And Saturdays when it’s warm!) Or grab a cone or cup in the stadium during gameday – Buck’s is now the official ice cream of your Missouri Tigers! Buck’s is just part of an integrated research, teaching and service-oriented laboratory where students learn everything about ice cream. Keep up with the Buck’s roving cart on Facebook and Twitter!
The Mizzou Meat Market has sizzling options for your tailgate grill. Pick up their signature Tiger Tail brats or Tiger burgers (both “striped” with cheese). Of course they also offer top-quality cuts of beef, pork and more. Jerky, summer sausage and snack sticks also can be fun to munch before or after gameday. The Meat Market is located at 147 Stringer Wing, Eckles Hall and is open Wednesdays and Fridays, noon to 5:30 p.m. The Market combines traditional learning with hands-on, entrepreneurial experience to support teaching, extension and research activities of the College’s food and animal science programs. Mizzou Cellars Wine is developed through a collaboration between the College and local winemakers. CAFNR is committed to growing the wine industry in Missouri through education, research and outreach, as part of its Missouri Wine and Grape center. Purchase a bottle of Norton or Vidal Blanc at local grocery stores, or online through Les Bourgeois Vineyards. The Mizzou spirit on the bottle is unmistakable!
The Gathering Place Bed and Breakfast – Mizzou’s own bed and breakfast – is operated as a capstone experience for an elite group of hospitality management students. It offers a unique blend of historic charm, modern amenities and convenience, with its proximity to campus and the downtown District area. The five spacious rooms (each with its own bath) book fast during football season and many other weekends! Follow them on Facebook to learn more.
We know you will now have fun planning the perfect tailgate! Go Tigers!!
