

An idyllic backdrop: The Gathering Place Bed & Breakfast, operated by CAFNR, was used as the setting for a recent photoshoot for Inside Columbia magazine's November 2012 issue. The publication asked six Columbians to share their holiday customs and their reasons for being thankful for the article "A Time for Tradition." Freshman Adam Mefrakis paints tiger paws on a white poinsettia that has been painted gold. In the background, sophomore Hilary Sears applies glue and shimmer to red poinsettias. Sears and Mefrakis are both plant sciences students. Each year Tiger Garden sells dazzling and tiger paw poinsettias, as well as traditional colors.
