Big Screen Collaborators

CAFNR faculty are appearing on a Jumbotron near you

You may have noticed some friendly faces at MU football games this fall. Friendly CAFNR faces. On the big screen, no less.

Just before the start of the football season, CAFNR Communications asked representatives from around the College to help us with a big project – in a short amount of time.

This season, Buck’s Ice Cream became the official ice cream of the Missouri Tigers. It’s all part of letting folks know what today’s CAFNR has to offer. And what better way to show a stadium full of Tiger fans the breadth of the College, then by relating what we do to the game they came to see?

So, we asked some of our fantastic CAFNR folks to help with our video shoot – featuring trivia related to both football and CAFNR. The videos feature:

Eric Aldrich, CAFNR alum and adjunct professor, atmospheric sciences, discussing average game-day temperatures in September.

Jan Dauve, teaching professor, agricultural and applied economics, providing information on the economic impact of football games in Columbia.

Brad Fresenburg, assistant extension professor, plant sciences, discussing the turf used at Memorial Stadium.

Azlin Mustapha, associate professor, food science, quizzing on the original flavor combination of Tiger Stripe ice cream at Buck’s (now the official ice cream of the Missouri Tigers!)

Jerry Taylor, Curators Professor/Wurdack Endowed Chair, animal sciences, talking about the learning opportunities at the Mizzou Meat Market – and the tailgating options such as Tiger Tail brats.

We are amazed by the collaborative nature of our CAFNR faculty, staff and alumni. And we are so impressed with their amazing ability to jump right in to this project. You would have thought they were pros at this! (Well, they are now!)
