CAFNR honored at NAADA Conference

CAFNR won big at the National Agricultural Alumni and Development Association (NAADA) Annual Conference in Lexington, Ken., June 17-20, 2012. Representatives of MU’s College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources attended the conference, as they have for many years.

NAADA is a national organization that provides education, support and recognition for individuals dedicated to expanding resources for land-grant and other colleges of agricultural sciences and related programs. A highlight at the annual NAADA conference is the Publications and Projects Competition, where first and second place awards are given for each of various divisions (Campaign/Series, Events/Program, Multimedia, Print Media) to recognize exemplary work. CAFNR’s Office of Advancement and Office of Communications submitted six entries and were awarded a total of six awards.

CAFNR Communications took first place in the Campaign/Series Division for the CAFNR brand roll-out campaign, while CAFNR’s Office of Advancement took second in the same category for their Agriculture Building Plaza Landscape Project and Solicitation campaign.

Communications also took first place in the Multimedia & Promotional Materials Division for the “I’m a Collaborator” video originally produced for the “CAFNR Comes Home” event held Homecoming weekend 2011. Watch the video here.

Communications received second place in the Multimedia & Promotional Materials Division for their electronic newsletter, Inside CAFNR. Communications began sending the monthly newsletter out in January 2012.

Communications took first place in the Multimedia Division Website category for the CAFNR web redesign. The College’s website was redesigned and expanded this October.

CAFNR Office of Advancement received first place in the Print Media Division (Newsletter) for the 2011 Gratitude publication. Gratitude is an annual publication sent to alumni and prospective donors. Read the publication here.

Darcy Wells, Executive Director for Advancement; Heidi Griswold, Director of Development; Christine Pickett, Director of External Relations; and Kristen Smarr, Director of Communications, all attended the conference.
