TripAdvisor has awarded The Gathering Place Bed and Breakfast with the Certificate of Excellence: A Testimonial to Your High Standards.
The online service offers travel and hotel reviews based on traveler feedback. The Gathering Place received 48 visitor reviews – 47 rated the B and B excellent and one rated it as very good.
The latest review gave the B and B an excellent rating. “What a lovely B and B….The furnishings were exquisite…bedding and towels were luxurious. What more can a woman want!!! The dining room table was dressed so invitingly and the food was extremely good. I will definitely stay there again and will tell my friends about this great place.”

The Gathering Place Bed and Breakfast was purchased by the College of Ag Foundation in 2008. Since then, they have been leasing the bed and breakfast to the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR) at the University of Missouri who operates it as an educational capstone experience or work opportunity for hospitality management students. It is located at 606 South College Avenue, across from the Physics building and steps away from campus.
“Our son competed in the Big 12 Swimming Men’s Conference and we actually could walk to the University and watch the competition,” said yet another reviewer. “This place was amazing on every level- the rooms, ambiance, staff, and price. It was a real treat to stay here and we cannot say enough nice things about the place. It was a real find and a completely wonderful experience.”

The bed and breakfast was renovated in 1995. Each of the five spacious suites is decorated with a theme and blends historical charm with modern amenities.
