The Excellence in Education award recognizes MU educators who support and value learning outside of the classroom. That’s exactly what Cecelia Leslie, the director of student recruitment for CAFNR, does every day in her commitment to student success.

Leslie has been with CAFNR for six years working with students and their families during the college selection process. Part of her job involves hosting student recruitment events and organizing college planning workshops around the state to help students and their families.

“My favorite part is getting to know students at all levels,” Leslie said. “One week I might have two groups of third graders, who are such little sponges and want to absorb so much knowledge about the college and the university. Then the next week I’m working with seniors who’ve made their decision and they are so excited. And I love working with the current students, who truly energize me every day. They keep my sense of humor up.”

Leslie’s contributions were honored at the Excellence in Education Awards Reception on Tuesday, April 27, in the Great Room of the Reynolds Alumni Center.
