Dining in Appreciation

Scholarships hold meaning for donors and students

More than 100 of CAFNR’s top students were able to do something not many of their peers get to do – personally thank a donor for the scholarship they received. Donors and students met and mingled, forging new friendships and sharing stories at the College’s Donor Appreciation Luncheon on Oct 13, 2009.

Attendees were delighted to hear Julia Shuck, CAFNR student and scholarship recipient, talk about how much her study abroad scholarship meant to her. This treasured event offers an opportunity for the College to let dedicated donors know how much their support is appreciated, as well as a time for scholarship donors to interact one-on-one with the recipients of their scholarship funds. What a great occasion it was!

CAFNR awards more than $900,000 in scholarships, and more than half of that goes to entering freshmen. As a testament to their experience with donors and with CAFNR, former scholarship recipients often endow their own scholarships to continue the tradition for future generations of CAFNR students.
