Contest Committee

Contest committee

The contest committee organizes the CAFNR Week King and Queen Contest, from the applications to the crowning. They are also in charge of Skit Night including booking a location, rules, judges and MCs.

Promotional Design and Development Committee

Promotions committee

The promotional design and development committee is in charge of designing the survival packs including the t-shirts and deciding the remaining pack items. They are also in charge of updating and maintaining the CAFNR Week Web site and the spirit award.

Activities Committee

Activities committee

The activities committee plans the Barnwarming dance, speaker and the points system. There are responsible for finding a Barnwarming location, dinner and DJ. They are also in charge of reserving a location for speaker and organizing a points system for the entire week.

Public Relations

Public relations committee

The public relations committee organizes the schedule of events and advertises activities on campus and in the community. They are in charge of all advertising including designing the brochures and publications. They are the main contact between CAFNR clubs and the steering committee.

Education

Education committee

The education committee plan events to educate MU students and Columbia residents, like the Little Ag Expo on Lowry Mall and the children's booths at the Twilight Festival. They are also in charge of Ag in the Classroom where the King and Queen candidates educate community elementary students about agriculture.

Service Committee

Service committee

The community service committee is in charge of coming up with and carrying out a community service project. This year's service project is the Ag Safety day; its geared toward kids and teaching them to be safe not only around the farm, but during everyday life as well. The community service committee attains proper permits for all service events in addition to organizing CAFNR club participation in this new event.

Fundraising Committee

Fundraising committee

These committee members contact companies involved in agriculture. They write letters, make phone calls, organize a fundraiser and shake hands to ensure that CAFNR Week is a success. They are also in charge of deciding the sponsorship levels.
