The University of Missouri Assistance Program (UMAP) was registered in Ghana recently as an International Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), giving the University of Missouri (MU) a legal framework to provide training, research assistance and technical expertise to increase the nation's agricultural productivity. July 5 to July 20: USDA Cochran Fellowship Program on Emerging Farm Biotechnology for 7 participants from South Africa led by Dr. Ken Schneeberger and Joe Horner.
July 5 to Sept. 20: USDA Borlaug Fellowship Program on Agricultural Policy for Bulgarian scholar, Emilia Sokolova. Dr. William Meyers is her program mentor.
Aug. 10 to Aug. 24: USDA Cochran Fellowship Program on Agricultural Policy for 6 participants from Albania. The program will be led by Dr. Jeanne Schwaller and Dr. William Meyers
September to November: USDA Scientific Exchange Scholar Program on Food Processing for Egyptian scholars Dr. Jehan Ouf and Dr. Marwaa Almoghzay. Dr. Azlin Mustapha will serve as the program mentor.
September: USDA Cochran Fellowship Program on Biofuels for 6 participants from Senegal and 1 from Cote D'Ivoire. The program will be led by Dr. Francisco Aguilar and Dr. Ken Schneeberger.
