  • Livestock genetics
  • Swine reproductive management

Research Description

Lamberson's major research focus is using a modeling approach to determine the impact of reproductive technologies on livestock breeding programs. A secondary emphasis is developing methods of management of swine to increase reproduction. Currently Lamberson is developing a method for identifying sets of animals representing a broad sampling of alleles present in a population for germplasm conservation programs. In addition, he is developing a model to characterize litter size in swine that includes ovulation rate, uterine capacity, fetal demand and placental efficiency.
