Research Description
The focus of Keisler's research efforts are on whole animal physiology, endocrinology and neuroendocrinology. Keisler is currently investigating LHRH / LH, Leptin, Neuropeptide Y (NPY), Urocortin and Insulin interactions in ovine, bovine, equine and porcine reproduction, nutrition and growth. Additionally, Keisler is evaluating serum concentrations of leptin as a measure of carcass quality in livestock and the role of leptin in satiety of neonatal livestock.
