David E. Baker joined the University of Missouri, College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources on March 14, 1975, as assistant professor of agricultural engineering and state safety and occupational health specialist. Baker serves as assistant dean and program director for Agricultural and Natural Resources Extension at the University of Missouri.
As assistant dean, Baker is responsible for the day-to-day leadership including development, implementation, coordination and evaluation of the campus and statewide agriculture and natural resources extension programs for Missouri.
Baker currently serves on the North Central Agricultural and Natural Resources Program Leader Council, the Administrative Council of NC SARE and the Homeland Security Committee of Extension Disaster Education Network.
He is past president and executive director of the National Institute for Farm Safety, past chair of EDEN and past chairman of the Agricultural Division of the National Safety Council.
